KEVIN CRINE MEMORIAL RACE : September 19 and 20

Mid Atlantic Motocross Association (M.A.M.A.) will be hosting the 3rd Annual KEVIN CRINE MEMORIAL RACE at Budds Creek Motocross Park, on September 19 and 20, 2015.

M.A.M.A  has announced and extended an invitation to the 3rd Annual KEVIN CRINE MEMORIAL RACE. Kevin was an extremely talented racer from Southern Maryland who started racing in the M.A.M.A. Association at age 14 in 1988. Five years later Kevin made his National Pro debut at Budds Creek in the 125cc class. In 1988 Kevin became the only M.A.M.A. racer to advance from Novice to Expert in one year. Kevin went on to become one of Maryland’s greatest riders ever achieving multiple Supercross and Motocross national numbers for 10 consecutive years, a feat that few ever achieve. Kevin’s work ethic and dedication to the sport of motocross turned many heads in the industry; our local motocross family is very proud to have Kevin as part of our community. Kevin was not only an outstanding racer, off the track he was a true blessing to be around. Kevin was always a very positive person and was always willing to help anyone. He was a true inspiration to his fellow racers and their families.

Kevin’s death in 2006 from an automobile accident is still fresh in the minds of his family and friends. Kevin is still very well-known and remembered in the motocross community and we want to honor his life and legacy by hosting a memorial race in his memory.

Saturday’s race day will also include the sure to be hotly contested inaugural KEVIN CRINE DASH FOR CASH. The 5 lap sprint awards the winner $574 dollars representing Kevin’s first racing number. 2nd and 3rd place will win $60 and $47 which represent two of Kevin’s national numbers. Entry for the race will be $25. Last year’s winner for the DASH FOR CASH was Tony Archer.

The post-race evening events include a desert contest, pot luck dinner, pig roast and ice cream for everyone; shared good times and reminiscing over some great pictures and stories of Kevin shared by his fellow racers, friends, and family.

A local band MX-51, which has two former M.A.M.A members, will perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. for all to enjoy!

On Sunday, Ty Wallace, former teammate, pro-rider and friend will be riding Kevin’s last bike in a parade lap before the Moto starts.
