Unless otherwise noted on the SMDR Events Calendar, or announced via email or otherwise, SMDR monthly meetings are held at Francis C. Garner FOP Lodge 24, located at 10285 Rosewick Road, La Plata, MD 20646.

SMDR Events and Information
SMDR utilizes Facebook, email, our website, club meetings, and the ride hotline (301-474-9081) to relay information to members.

Dues go toward the general operation of the club, including insurance for our club rides, corporation insurance, postage, legal expenses, rental equipment, our annual picnic, etc. All club board members are unpaid volunteers. As a member, you are encouraged to attend meetings and are welcome to make arrangements to obtain a full accounting of all club expenditures.

Member Benefits
SMDR members have access to a private, club-managed riding property. Members also receive discounts from preferred local dealers. The club offers several special events, such as riding events throughout the year at local and out of town venues, either at a discounted rate or no charge. We also hold a summer picnic, holiday party, and Supercross viewing parties.

Community Involvement

SMDR is a longtime supporter of The La Plata Center for Children ( and participates in various events throughout the year, such as collecting and donating toys for children during Christmas, providing a motorcycle Santa parade lead by our very own St. Nick, and supporting an annual Poker Run. SMDR tradesmen have participated for over 15 years in the annual Charles County Christmas in April (, providing low income, disabled, or elderly citizens with home improvements to enable a healthy living environment. SMDR also participates in other community events lead by the Town of La Plata, as well as the local Lions Club.
