2012 – SMDR Privateer Award in memory of Kevin Crine #574

On Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Budds Creek National, the Southern Maryland Dirt Riders Club was proud to announce the winners of the eighth annual SMDR Privateer Award in honor of Kevin Crine.

The winner in the 250 class was #30, Alex Martin .  Alex finished 15th overall at Budds Creek with a 16th place finish in the first moto and 14th in the second moto.  He is currently in 15th place in the series with 55 points.  The winner in the 450 class was #241, Derek Anderson.  Derek finished 26th at Budds Creek with a 27th place finish in moto 1 and 21st in the second moto.  He is currently in 23rd place in the series with 24 points.

Southern Maryland Dirt Riders president Brian Stewart and Kevin Crine’s dad, John Crine, presented each rider with $2,000 on the podium during the opening ceremonies.  The money is donated by Southern Maryland Dirt Rider club members to help the privateers.  This year’s cash award brings the amount donated to the privateers by SMDR in excess of $20,000.  We wish Alex and Derek much success for the rest of the 2012 season and in the future and hope that our award helps in a small way to help them achieve their goals.  We will be cheering for you so good luck and ride fast and safe!

privateer award regalSouthern Maryland Dirt Riders Club will be awarding their seventh annual Southern Maryland Dirt Riders Privateer Award at the AMA Motocross National at Budds Creek on Saturday, June 18th to two lucky privateers.This is the fifth year that the award is given in the memory of Kevin Crine #574.Along with a beautiful plaque which will be awarded on the podium after the race by our club president Brian Stewart, each rider will receive Two Thousand dollars apiece. There will be one 250 rider and one 450 rider selected from the pool of privateers that qualify for the Budds Creek race.The money that is given to the privateers is donated by club members at Southern Maryland Dirt Riders club events leading up to the Budds Creek National.
